Faroe Seafood Invests in Processing Plant

With sales offices in the UK and France, Faroe Seafood aims to build a position of strength in Europe, while investing in a versatile seafood factory able to freeze and smoke as well as processing fresh products of saithe and other species.
Over the last year or so, Faroe Seafood has quietly put together a powerful program aimed at supplying seafood to markets across Europe including the United Kingdom.
In December 2011 the company— not to be confused with the old Faroe Seafood, which no longer exists—invested
in a seafood factory at Eiði, a fishing village located on the northernmost point of the Faroese island of Eysturoy.
The processing plant, a well-equipped facility formerly known as Norðís, now provides Faroe Seafood with a range of options for the production of saithe, cod, haddock, and other species—fresh, frozen, or smoked.

Faroe Seafood back in production

As part of the process that started back in March 2011, Faroe Seafood took another important step in December 2011 by taking over the only factory in the Faroe Islands with the option to produce fresh, frozen and smoked products from saithe/coley, haddock and cod.

Already, less than a month after the investment the factory was up and running again producing fresh and frozen fillets and portions for the European market. Soon the next step will be smoked products.

After one month full production of fresh and frozen fish fillets and portions for the European market is achieved, the next step will be to add smoked fish to our expanding fish products.

Faroe Seafood is Back in Business

On the 21st of March 2011 the administrators and some former employees signed a contract on buying Faroe France S.A. - Faroe UK - the name Faroe Seafood and the Faroe Brand.

Faroe Seafood will continue in the same areas where Faroe Seafood has had it's core business over the years.
